	Trauma psychology is a new field of study in psychology that has attracted attention of scholars and human service personnel worldwide. The Master of Arts Programme in Trauma Psychology is a two-year part-time programme. It is designed for students who are interested to learn and apply psychological approaches in the management of traumatic experiences in response to critical events and challenges of life. Application Form Class Schedule (2008-09) The programme is phased out in 2008-09 and will not have student admission in 2009-10 To provide students with academic and research training in trauma psychology. To stimulate students' academic and research interests in trauma psychology. To extend students' competence in applications of psychological approaches in trauma management. To provide students with postgraduate studies in a specialized field of trauma psychology for both self-enhancement and career development. This programme emphasizes both scientific understanding and evidence-based application of interventions in trauma psychology. This programme is taught by faculty from the Department of Psychology as well as experienced clinical psychologists specialized in the field of trauma psychology. Classes are taught in Cantonese and held in weekday evenings and/or on Saturday afternoons in CUHK campus. In addition to the general qualifications, all applicants must also fulfil the "English Language Proficiency Requirement" as stipulated by the Graduate School before being considered for admission. Please refer to the "Postgraduate Prospectus" issued by the Graduate School for details on these requirements. Besides, all applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in psychology or in a related field. All courses are required: PSY 5410, 5420, 5430, 5440, 5450, 5460, 5470, 5480, 5050             26 units Other Requirements Students are required to: 1. fulfil the overall GPA requirement for graduation - minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0    (i.e. average "C" grade); and 2. fulfil the "IT Proficiency Requirement" in order to graduate. Remarks Course and Unit Exemption: Students may apply for course and unit exemption for a maximum of 4 courses (12 units). No replacement for the exempted courses is required. Completion of Programme: To complete the programme, a student must achieve a grade of "C-" or above for each of the 9 required courses taken. In case the student is unable to achieve a "C-" or above grade for any of the 9 required courses taken, he/she will have to re-take the same course(s) in another term when the course(s) is(are) offered again and pass it(them) with a "C-" or above grade. Students are allowed to re-take each failed course only once.
